From his first psychology classes at college, through his degree in Communications and Advertising from the prestigious Art Center College of Design, and now as a certified Want® Trainer and Associate Director of the Want® Institute (a Federally registered and approved Health Care Provider) Jim has been studying people. And now, after his extensive training from the respected internationally known psychotherapist, best-selling author, Pat Allen, Ph.D. (Dr. Pat Allen is known for her many appearances on Oprah as well as being the go-to person for CNN, KTLA news, Fox News, and others, for communication and relationships issues). Jim has continued to learn even more about people, and now for the last 10 years has been focusing on learning about and speaking on the trait of high sensitivity. Jim is considered an expert on the inherited trait of high sensitivity and even owns the registered trademark “Highly Sensitive People®.”
His popular website HighlySensitivePeople.com explores all the different aspects of the trait of high sensitivity, and the site now averages over 250,000 "hits" every month! Jim receives e-mails daily from all over the world. Now, in addition to his speaking engagements, workshop and many interviews, he coaches people with the trait of high sensitivity and also consults on the topic, working to educate both HSPs and Non-HSPs alike about this very important, but little known, trait and how it impacts their lives; in business, family, and socially.
Jim currently has monthly speaking engagements in both Los Angeles and Orange County on the trait of high sensitivity and Highly Sensitive People, and is booked to speak on cruises to Alaska, Mexico, and the Caribbean. And, because Highly Sensitive People make up 15% to 20% of the population, or 50 million Americans, you can see how even people who aren’t HSP will come into contact with many of them and it benefits everyone, including businesses, other groups, organizations, and individuals, to learn and understand more about this important inherited trait. |
